Everyone at Self Care is
dedicated to customer service... in fact we consider every single person
is part of our Customer Service Team. While everyone knows that the
customer may not always be right, at Self Care...
The CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS FIRST! You won't find a clock on
the wall in our offices... we're all focused on getting the job done.
The Management Team
A couple of
working directors, complemented by an experienced group of managers who
share in the decision making and implementation processes, that's the
Self Care Group management team... a group that brings enthusiasm,
enjoyment and dedication to the job.
Eb Just - CEO & Chairman
Since
leaving public education as a senior teacher, Eb has had
well over 30 years
of successful business involvement in the personal care, pharmaceutical,
and natural health and well-being industries.
His management experience includes sales,
marketing, staff training, manufacturing, exporting, publishing and
general management.
Eb established and managed REVLON
Health Care Group (NZ), a multi-million dollar manufacturing, exporting
and marketing division. After its international sell-off in 1985,
together with key staff, he founded SELF CARE.
A “Kiwi” with an early European childhood, he has an international
outlook, which has been fostered by regular overseas travel for many
years. As founding shareholder and CEO of SELF CARE, his extensive experience,
and technical, industry and general knowledge, are
valued resources for the group and its
customers.
Today he focuses on strategic
direction, project work, including product and resource development, and
marketing support.
Kevin
Marr - Managing Director
Kevin is a qualified
accountant, with
a degree in Business Management.
He has extensive accounting, auditing and
general business experience. He was the Financial Controller for Revlon
Health Care Group NZ, and has been Self Care’s Company
Secretary and a shareholder/director from its inception.
Kevin is well known and respected in the industry
for his ability to assist in business analysis and advice on business
development for beauty therapists.
 Anne
O'Brien - General Manager
After completing her BA, Anne joined the
Auckland Star as Market Researcher. During the extended OE that
followed, Anne spent 6 years with Reuters (Business Information) in the
UK.
With senior management experience in administration, customer
service, training and inventory management, Anne joined Self Care to establish the role of Administration Manager. A year later she took
over the vital role of Business Manager for our More Than Skin group of
Auckland spa & beauty salons, being instrumental in making them the
leading group of salons in New Zealand and was subsequently promoted to General Manager of
the More Than Skin group.
As a vital member of our management group, Anne adds her human
resources skills and experience to the Self
Care team and from February 2007 she became General Manager of
Self Care Group.
Marketing
Team
Supporting our customers
(and our brands) with a carefully crafted programme of brand development
through advertising, promotions, PR, and in-salon support materials, as
well as individualised support for salon owners, is a vital component in
achieving our goal of helping our customers to succeed in business. To
this end we have strengthened our marketing team and now have two
highly competent and experienced people to provide a unique level of
focus and support for our professional spa and beauty industry.
Julia
Elworthy
- With a background and qualifications
not only in marketing, but also
graphic design, Julia's skills and experience boost our capacity to
support our customers with marketing and design, while maintaining the
quality of our marketing support calendar.
Kylee
Thornton-Fox
is a recent and welcome addition
to Self Care's Marketing team as a Marketing Coordinator. Her hands-on
marketing skills and background in direct marketing and promotion add another dimension to
our communication and marketing activities.
The Self Care Office
'Crew'
A
feature of our customer support team in the office is that the majority
are qualified and experienced beauty therapists. This allows them to
empathize with the needs and expectations of our customers. The
head office team
includes the following, all of whom are involved in that vital daily
customer contact:
June Lamb - Financial Manager
June
(right) is a chartered accountant with a wealth of experience, including
Financial Controller and Director roles. She came to us on a three
months contract to complete the implementation of a new accounting
system. We're delighted that June has decided to join our management
team on a permanent basis with responsibility for our administrative
team and systems.
The
Self Care Group Sales 'Crew'
One of the distinctive features of our sales team is the uniquely
decorated cars that they drive. You may have seen one of our fleet of
white new Toyota Corollas, decorated with our fresh Self Care Spa &
Beauty logo.
More importantly, we have a very experienced team of professionals,
dedicated to helping their customers to build successful businesses.
Jane Wilton - Sales Manager
With over 20 years
of experience in New Zealand, Jane is well known in our industry.
Jane is not only a CIDESCO qualified beauty therapist, but has diplomas
in business studies, marketing and naturopathy. Before coming to New
Zealand, she was responsible for promoting Clarins and establishment of
new clinics throughout the UK.
She was recruited to
establish Clarins in New Zealand and was responsible for the sales,
promotion and training team which established 60 retail outlets around
the country. Even while she took time out to have a family, Jane
maintained her industry interest and connections with various part-time
consultancy roles. Apart from leading our
dedicated and enthusiastic team of consultants, Jane has taken personal
responsibility for establishing and supporting Pevonia accounts.
Lauren Smith - National Educator
has gained sound experience in various
Auckland beauty therapy salons over the last four years. She has always
had a passion for beauty therapy and enjoys the client interaction. She
was inspired to move into training because of her strong desire to keep
learning and to help other therapists to do the same.
Charmaine
Guest - Headway Magazine Editor
At
the
beginning of
2001, Charmaine took over sole responsibility for editing and producing
Headway, the glossy magazine which has earned a world reputation as one
of the best Hair & Beauty trade magazines (especially considering the
small size of our market).
After
completing her BA in English and Media Studies, she worked for
Auckland’s Times newspaper group. She brought a keen fashion sense and a
youthful eye to keep the magazine in touch with the younger majority of
our hair and beauty professionals. During
her tenure the magazine has grown in size, quality, popularity, and success.
